‘The ‘Wapengo’ series of work is about discovering. As a recent arrival to this area the
paintings investigate the elements of this littoral ecosystem: The estuarine waterways,
serene and horizontal traversed by aging wooden bridges, the rhythmic trunks of the
forests slowly returning to their pre-colonial glory with their dusty unsealed tracks.
These contrasts reveal the uniqueness of this landscape and its story.’
